Week 12 Reading Reflection

I think this week the part of the reading that surprised me more than the rest of it was the how many company's don't have sufficient strategic planning. I always believed that strategic planning was a necessity for a company at the higher levels of doing business. It's important for the company to know where it wants to go. The part that is a little confusing to me was the two different mindsets. This was confusing because I saw very little difference between them actually. If I could ask the author any question it would be for him to explain the two different mindsets and how they differ from each other a little bit better. I'd also ask if their is a "better" strategic process better than the others. I don't believe that the author was wrong about anything but their are a lot of contradicting theories in this chapter.
